This is a moving tribute to Tony Snow. Brit and his colleagues say it best.

The women of “The View” engage in some of the most inane banter anywhere, anytime, anyplace. Sherri and Whoppi try to lecture others on what they are allowed to say. “The View” permits-even encourages-the loud mouth liberals (there are four) to shout down any view that isn’t leftist, socialist, psychobabble. Appalling.

As we have noted before, Brit Hume’s “Special Report” is the finest News Hour on television. The nightly “grapevine” is full of news nuggets that you will never hear in any of the mainstream media. Check out the latest edition from July 14.

Update: You may have to watch the video here. It’s worth it…Rachel is at her moonbattiest. Alter and Maddow lecture the rest of the media on how to do their jobs. WOW!
Rachel Maddow (ubiquitous moonbat on Keith Olbermann’s daily tirade) and Jonathon Alter are the epitome of the effete, elite liberal media. Maddow and Alter had a liberal love-in on Monday night’s show. They tried to make the cover of the New Yorker the fault of conservatives. You have to hear Alter’s comment saying that if the outrageous cover were on a conservative magazine, that conservatives would laugh. Of course these two high-brow hussey’s have to condescend to the rest of the country.
The New Yorker cover is appalling. It was rejected by all common sense conservatives. Just listen for Alter’s snarfy little commentary.

WOW! Michelle Malkin hits one out of the park today.
June 18, 2008 — YET another US Marine, Lt. Col. Jeffrey Chessani, had charges dropped Tuesday in the so-called Haditha massacre - bringing the total number of Marines who’ve been cleared or won case dismissals in the Iraq war incident to seven. In Chessani’s case, the military judge found that Gen. James Mattis had succumbed to impermissible outside meddling in bringing charges.
Bottom line: Zero for seven for military prosecutors, with one trial left to go.
But you won’t see that headline in the same Armageddon-sized font The New York Times used repeatedly when the story first broke.
Read the whole column-it’s worth it.

I usually agree with Michael Riedel. However, his coverage of the Tony Awards in the New York Post on Monday misses the mark by a country mile. The Tony telecast was one of the best in the last ten years. There were lots of performances, genuine excitement, and some thrilling performances that made us feel like we were right there at Radio City Music Hall viewing a live performance (In the Heights, Patti LuPone, South Pacific, and RENT). Read Riedel’s comments and let me know your thoughts.
June 16, 2008 — JUST when you thought Broadway was starting to get with it, the feeble-minded old Tony voters served up their usual dish - sentimental slop.Yes, “In the Heights,” which pulled off an upset to win Best Musical, is energetic. Yes, it has an appealing Latino cast. And, yes, it’s set in the barrio, a neighborhood most Tony voters only pass through on their way home from their country houses in Katonah. But the barrio of “In the Heights” is about as zesty as an enchilada from Taco Bell.
This is a hopelessly old-fashioned show that, for all its hyperactive staging, makes the groundbreaking observation that “there’s no place like home.” (more…)

There was definitely some over-kill on the coverage of Tim Russert’s death. Some even used it to bash the Bush administration. Well it isn’t the first time that Chris Matthews has embarrassed himself. Matthews even used Walter Mondale as a source.
It will be interesting to see where NBC and MSNBC go with the Russert story next. Meet the Press was wonderful on Sunday, and very well done. Check out the Meet the Press home page if you have not yet seen it. There are lots of great pictures and video.
