Olbermann Goes Over the Moon for Obama

The MSNBC coverage of the Democrat National Convention was totally slanted, and nothing short of an outright commercial for the Obama/Biden ticket. Besides having their Obama Love-In, the anchors at MSNBC displayed their disdain for each other. Check out the Olbermann Watch.

ANIMOSITY among MSNBC anchors has reached a mile-high peak at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, with on-air squabbling between such big egos as Joe Scarborough, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and David Shuster.

Scarborough, who served in Congress as a Republican representative from Florida, seems to be particularly touchy being the only host who isn’t openly pro-Democratic.

Yesterday, after Shuster referred to “your party, the Republican Party,” Scarborough went off, sparking a seven-minute exchange.

“I will let you know that ‘my party,’ my party loathes me much more than your party, the Democratic Party, loathes me,” Scarborough seethed. “What about your party? What’s your party, David Shuster? David, what’s your party?”

“I have no party. I’m a complete independent,” Shuster replied.

“Oh, I feel so comforted by the fact that you’re independent. I bet everyone at MSNBC has ‘independent’ on their voting cards,” said Scarborough.

Scarborough declined to talk to Page Six, but sources say he and NBC anchor Tom Brokaw disagree with MSNBC’s decision to position itself as the channel for George W. Bush-haters.

At a forum on Sunday, when Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell called MSNBC “the official network of the Obama campaign,” Brokaw said, “I think Keith has gone too far. I think Chris has gone too far.”

Insiders say Olbermann is pushing to have Brokaw banned from the network and is also refusing to have centrist Time magazine columnist Mike Murphy on his show.

“The idea of anyone trying to ban Tom Brokaw is ludicrous,” said one MSNBC-er. Brokaw was on MSNBC for an hour yesterday afternoon. Murphy, who was bumped from Olbermann’s show on Monday night, told us, “They told me technical problems and I have no reason not to believe them.”

Governor Jindal (R) Has Louisiana Under Control

Update: Mayor (Chocolate City) Nagin tells New Orleans, “if you stay, you are on your own!!” Isn’t this what the media and the liberals said constituted an impeachable offense? Also, check out Michelle Malkin.

It seems that Mayor (Chocolate City) Nagin has learned a lot from his failures in 2005. Nagin and Kathleen Blanco had no clue what they were doing. Conservative Republican Governor Bobby Jindal seems to be doing exceedingly well. Could it be that the mishandling of the aftermath of Katrina was a democrat problem with the name Blanco/Nagin? Michael Moore is still rooting for the disaster.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Spooked by predictions that Hurricane Gustav could grow into a Category 5 monster, an estimated 1 million people fled the Gulf Coast Saturday – even before the official order came for New Orleans residents to get out of the way of a storm taking dead aim at Louisiana.

Mayor Ray Nagin gave the mandatory order late Saturday, but all day residents took to buses, trains, planes and cars – clogging roadways leading away from New Orleans, still reeling three years after Hurricane Katrina flooded 80 percent of the city and killed about 1,600 across the region.

The evacuation of New Orleans becomes mandatory at 8 a.m. Sunday along the vulnerable west bank of the Mississippi River, and at noon on the east bank. Nagin called Gustav the “mother of all storms” and told residents to “get out of town. This is not the one to play with.”

Huckabee Explains Palin to Liberals

Former Governor Mike Huckabee is a wonderful spokesperson for the conservative movement and the republican party. I don’t always agree with him, yet he is the sunniest republican on the current political scene. Listen to Huckabee explain the credentials of Sarah Palin-especially if you doubt her at all.

In addition, Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard and Fox News has an excellent piece about Palin today.

A spectre is haunting the liberal elites of New York and Washington–the spectre of a young, attractive, unapologetic conservatism, rising out of the American countryside, free of the taint (fair or unfair) of the Bush administration and the recent Republican Congress, able to invigorate a McCain administration and to govern beyond it.

That spectre has a name–Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old governor of Alaska chosen by John McCain on Friday to be his running mate. There she is: a working woman who’s a proud wife and mother; a traditionalist in important matters who’s broken through all kinds of barriers; a reformer who’s a Republican; a challenger of a corrupt good-old-boy establishment who’s a conservative; a successful woman whose life is unapologetically grounded in religious belief; a lady who’s a leader.

So what we will see in the next days and weeks–what we have already seen in the hours after her nomination–is an effort by all the powers of the old liberalism, both in the Democratic party and the mainstream media, to exorcise this spectre. They will ridicule her and patronize her. They will distort her words and caricature her biography. They will appeal, sometimes explicitly, to anti-small town and anti-religious prejudice. All of this will be in the cause of trying to prevent the American people from arriving at their own judgment of Sarah Palin.

That’s why Palin’s spectacular performance in her introduction in Dayton was so important. Her remarks were cogent and compelling. Her presentation of herself was shrewd and savvy. I heard from many who watched Palin–many of them not predisposed to support her–about how moved they were by her remarks, her composure, and her story. She will have a chance to shine again Wednesday night at the Republican convention.

When in Doubt, Bring Up Katrina

You can tell that the liberal, drive-by media is scared that Obama might lose this election. The reactionary radical voices who control CNN and MSNBC are expressing their angst by shrieking about the choice of Sarah Palin and re-hashing every misguided Katrina story.

Three years after Hurricane Katrina, Anderson Cooper, Keith Olbermann, CNN, and MSNBC continue to use Katrina as a tool to undermine President Bush and the United States of America. The fact that the failures in New Orleans were failures of the local and state governments is never mentioned by these strident voices of liberalism. As usual, the fundamental American concepts of indiviudal responsibilty and individual rights are never mentioned by Cooper or Olbermann. Cooper and Olbermann are so ridiculously radical that they don’t even acknowledge any role for the Mayor (Chocolate City) Nagin, and Kathleen Blanco (former governor).

You can see Michael Moore cheering for Hurricane to hit New Orleans this week and calling it the perfect storm for President Bush and the Republicans. Moore actually laughs at the fact that there could be lots of human suffering this week, and the entire event is nothing more than a political weapon to him.

Moonbat of the Year: Michael Moore

Michael Moore displayed his stupidity on Ketih Olbermann’s show tonight. Moore is really out of touch. If Keith could have just had Jimmy Carter join Michael in a joint appearance, we could have the most radical of today’s democrats in one place at one time. That would have made for great television comedy.

Palin A-Palooza

Dr. Sanity has the same title over at today’s Carnival of the Insanities

Here it is, the largest gathering of all things Sarah Palin, a virtual Palin-A-Palooza!

Check out Stuck on Stupid!

The selection of Sarah Palin has electrified the Republican ticket, and forced the “drive-by liberal media” into a total meltdown. Currently on CNN Campbell Brown and David Rodham Gergen appear to be stupified. David Gergen has betrayed Ronald Reagan and gives embarrassing analysis on CNN. Chris Matthews (MSNBC) and Wolf Blitzer spent the late afternoon and early evening hours hypocritically talking about experience. Matthews, Todd, and Andrea Mitchell spent today trying to spin Palin as a bad choice.

We’ll try to get some video up soon. In the meantime, here are some of the best posts regarding Sarah Palin. For those of you asking who is Sarah Palin, read on…

Noonan Calls Obama Speech a “Flop-A-Lini”

Thank you Mark Finkelstein.

Peggy Noonan wrote speeches for Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush. She really knows how to spin a phrase!

Peggy Noonan made a serious point about MSNBC’s slanted coverage, and I suppose seriousness compels me to mention it first.  But please do yourself a favor and stay tuned for the description of Peggy’s un-PC laugh line that could be the best guilty pleasure of the campaign season. Joe Scarborough opened today’s Morning Joe with an ode to the wonderfulness that was Obama last night.  He was entirely in tune with Olbermann’s claim that the speech was beyond criticism.  All the adoration apparently annoyed Peggy, and she made a point of providing a counterweight when she appeared later in the show.

PEGGY NOONAN: Well, it was a bit of a “flop-a-lini” to tell you the truth.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Wow!

NOONAN: There were things about it that didn’t work. Six months from now we’re all going to remember the event. We’re going to remember the Parthenon, the 60,000 people, the confetti shot out of the cannon.  We’re going to remember all that.  We will not, I think, remember what he said.  I think there was simply a number of problems with it . . . I’m actually putting a little edge on my criticism just to make up for the fact that on MSNBC last night somebody said, quote, “it wasn’t a speech: it was a symphony.” I’m sorry; I won’t even name who did it. I am here to balance that bit of fatuous — fatuous suck-upping!

Sorry Barack, The Recession Is On Hold…

Barack is talking a lot about the economy, but he is not using facts. It only serves Obama to make sure everyone believes that everyone is doing terribly.

From Gateway Pundit:

You won’t hear this in Denver this tonight…
Bush unemployment numbers continue to best the Clinton Years:

(US Misery Index)

And, it looks like the recession is once again on hold.
The economy grew by a very respectable 3.3% in the second quarter of this year.
Yahoo Finance reported:

The economy shifted to a higher gear in the spring, growing at its fastest pace in nearly a year as foreign buyers snapped up U.S. exports and tax rebates spurred shoppers at home.

The Commerce Department reported Thursday that gross domestic product, or GDP, increased at a 3.3 percent annual rate in the April-June quarter. The revised reading was much better than the government’s initial estimate of a 1.9 percent pace and exceeded economists’ expectations for a 2.7 percent growth rate.

Also, according to the US Census Bureau, the poverty rate today continues to remain below those Clinton years:

According to America’s north Shore Journal:

The average poverty rate for all Americans for the first seven years of the Reagan terms was 14.2%. For the first seven years of Bill Clinton’s terms, it was 13.6%. Under George Bush, the average poverty rate for 2001-2007 is 12.4%.

Bubba didn’t mention this in his speech here in Denver last night.

More… David Harsanyi explained today why it’s no wonder Dems didn’t want former President Bill Clinton to speak on the economy this week. The growth during the Clinton years was due to free market capitalism and not populism, or isolationism.

A Cure for What Ails You…Ronald Reagan, July 1980

Ronald Reagan is an authentic American hero. His bedrock conservative philosophy, his determination to keep America as a Shining City on a Hill, and his genuine love of the United States of America are unmatched in today’s generation of American politicians. For anyone worn out from the pretension in Denver, just watch Reagan, and it will remind you why you care about politics in America.

Watching the charade in Denver this week makes me nostalgic for those glorious Reagan years. I would much rather watch a re-run of Ronald Reagan than watch any live moments of the disingenuous, elitist Barack Obama.

Gore is Still a Sore-Loserman

Al Gore says that Obama=Lincoln…

I missed seeing Al Gore speak tonight aty Mile High Stadium. However, in reading some of his remarks, I have found that Gore is still bitter about 2000, and still trying to re-write history about that election that he tried to steal. Gore lies about several items including the state of the economy in late 2000-2001, and totally misrepresents almost every policy issue he attempts to address. Poor All Gore, he just won’t ever get over his loss in November 2000. He is also a lot like Bill Clinton…it’s all about All Gore.

DENVER, Colorado — Former Vice President Al Gore started his speech tonight by talking about how the world would be different had he ended up in the White House in 2000.

“Eight years ago, some said there was not much difference between the nominees of the two major parties and it didn’t really matter who became president,” Gore said. “Our nation was enjoying peace and prosperity. Some assumed we would continue both, no matter the outcome. But here we all are in 2008, and I doubt anyone would argue now that election didn’t matter.

“Take it from me,” Gore continued,” if it had ended differently, we would not be bogged down in Iraq, we would have pursued bin Laden until we captured him. We would not be facing a self-inflicted economic crisis; we would be fighting for middle-income families. We would not be showing contempt for the Constitution; we’d be protecting the rights of every American, regardless of race, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation. And we would not be denying the climate crisis; we’d be solving it.” Read more »
