Obama in Iraq: Thanks to the Troop Surge
Update: This member of the nutroots coalition creates her own reality to dismiss the domestic political campaign going on inside Iraq. Wonder what happened to the insistence on “immediate withdrawal” from the 2006 campaign?
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki seems to be an Obama type flip-flopper. That should be just fine since according to the mainstream media, Maliki has joined Obama in calling for a timetable. It seems, however, that Maliki was for the timetable before he was against it. It is even more interesting that the democrats have flip-flopped on their view of al-Maliki now that he appears to agree with them. A corrected statement will never get the sensalist coverage given to the original sensasionalist argument. This kerfuffule could have its’ origins in al-Maliki’s own campaign.
Sadly, there is a lot more going on than what the media will communicate or that most people will ever hear. Michael J. O’Shea sets the record straight for those who adore Obama. However, Joe Lieberman speaks with a clear voice about Obama’s past ideas. If the United States had followed Obama’s strategy last year, Obama would not be in Iraq today-it wouldn’t be safe! Obama wanted all troops out by March 31, 2008. The stupidity of this idea can not be overstated. However, you won’t read about this in the mainstream media, and no one will ask Obama the question. Allahpundit has a great round-up.
