President Obama Continues Hectic Victory Tour

There has been a lot of talk this week about Obama’s arrogance. It is even richer when his liberal allies in the press expound upon the notion that Obama has “assumed the presidency.”

Barack Obama has long been his party’s presumptive nominee. Now he’s becoming its presumptuous nominee.

Fresh from his presidential-style world tour, during which foreign leaders and American generals lined up to show him affection, Obama settled down to some presidential-style business in Washington yesterday. He ordered up a teleconference with the (current president’s) Treasury secretary, granted an audience to the Pakistani prime minister and had his staff arrange for the chairman of the Federal Reserve to give him a briefing. Then, he went up to Capitol Hill to be adored by House Democrats in a presidential-style pep rally. Read more »

Pelosi “I’m Trying to Save the Planet”

How embarrassing. Nancy Pelosi claims to be saving the planet. Well, Al Gore invented the internet….What a shame. Pelosi is a total embarrassing. Also in this video, the AP acknowledges success in Iraq saying that all “organized resistance in Iraq has ceased.” Also, Brit quotes Scott McClellan saying that he lied to MSNBC.

‘Giving Inmate Terrorists More Opportunities (GITMO) Act of 2008’

This is the best post of the best news I have seen all summer. Hat tip to the stunning Jay Stephenson.

Representative Louis Gohmert, (R-TX) sponsored legislation today that would move terrorist detainees from Club GITMO to the grounds of the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. to be overseen by the Supreme Court Justices.

Congress finds the following:

(1) The United States Supreme Court issued an opinion styled Boumediene v. Bush on June 12, 2008.

(2) Justice Anthony Kennedy, in the court’s majority opinion, held that foreign terrorism suspects held at the Guantanamo Bay naval base in Cuba have constitutional rights to challenge their detention in United States courts.

(3) This is an obvious effort on the part of the Supreme Court to micromanage the detainment and disposition of detainees in the War on Terror who are dedicated to destroying innocent people and the American way of life.

(4) The United States Supreme Court clearly needs increased opportunity to oversee the handling of the enemy combatants, as it has seen fit to take a greater role in managing the Global War on Terror, which is a duty previously exercised by the Executive Branch.

REP. LOUIE GOHMERT in his own words…What a sad day it was for the rule of law when such important constitutional precedent was discarded. And what a sad day it is when Americans cannot rely on their Supreme Court to be consistent in upholding the rules it makes. As a former judge, I have a deep understanding of the role of precedent in creating certainty, stability and order. The purpose of my bill is simply to hold our high court responsible for its decisions, so that we may rely on some degree of certainty as we go forth in conducting the work of our nation. The court needs to understand that it does not make such inconsistent rulings in a harmless vacuum.

Olbermann and Maddow Make another Advertisement for Obama

Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow behave like paid staff for the Obama campaign! Night after night, they bash McCain, and act as if Obama is perfect. Liek a high school girl with a brazen attitude, Rachel repeatedly rolls her eyes while commenting on McCain. Tonight Rachel said in reference to Obama, “sure be the candidaye that maybe the media is obsessed with, but…” I hope no one is watching these people other than for pure entertainment. Rachel also claims that the media is giving McCain “a pass.” Be sure to catch the round-up at Olbermann Watch.

More on Richard Simmons and Unintended Consequences

Richard Simmons doesn’t realize that there could easily be unintended consequences for his “fitness bill.” This bill will generate more federal interference in public schools. Is there stable funding for the bill lasting many years into the future? If there is a federal mandate for “fitness and self-esteem” what other items in the curriculum will have to be reduced or eliminated? Simmons is on the right track, but a little strident in his narrow vision.

Gingrich Rightly Identifies the Reid Recession

Harry Reid lost his temper with reporters when questioned too heavily about drilling now in America. Reid is beholden to the whacko liberal environmental lobby. Reid and Pelosi won’t even allow an up or down vote on more drilling. As Newt says, “the country can’t afford the democrat policies.”

Despicable Liberal Media

Andrea Mitchell, Richard Wolfe, Chuck Todd, and Jonathon Alter produce this glowing, complimentary campaign commercial for Barack Obama immediately following his speech in Berlin on Thursday. This liberal drivel is a great nomination for “outrage of the week.” Richard Wolfe wastes no time bashing President Bush, and insisting that we Americans must ingratiate ourselves with the Germans and the French. Chuck, Andrea, and Jonathon simply pile on.
