Dan Rather’s Latest Crash

September 24, 2007 · 1 Comment

“Well, God has not forsaken us. Dan Rather seems divinely inspired to crash more times than a Kennedy driving home from an office party.” Jonah Goldberg, September 21, 2007 in the National Review Online.

Thanks, Jonah for stating it like it is. Who knew that Dan Rather would be the gift that would keep on giving.  His lawsuit against CBS NEWS will keep the dirty laundry from the “tiffany network” on the front pages for months.

“Across the media universe the questions pour out: Why is Dan Rather doing this to himself? Why does he drag this out? Why won’t he just come clean? Why would he let this happen in the first place? Why is CBS standing by him? Why … why … why?

“There is only one plausible answer: Ours is a just and decent God.”

Democrats on the record Supporting Moveon

September 22, 2007 · No Comments

Hat Tip: Bobby Eberle

The Hotline has more

Nathan Bradfield lists  all the senators who voted to support Moveon.

Now it’s official. Thanks to Texas Sen. John Cornyn, an amendment was put forward condemning the left-wing political group MoveOn.org for its attack ad against Gen. David Petraeus. Although the measure passed strongly with a 72-25 vote, no leading Democrat, especially those running for president, voted yes. None could step forward and do the right thing, proving that MoveOn.org does call the shots for the Democrats.

MoveOn.org’s influence over the Democrats has grown steadily over the years. With millions of dollars to spend attacking Republicans, Democrats have gladly supported MoveOn’s efforts even though the group clearly represents the fringe left of American society. Despite being so out of touch with mainstream America, MoveOn’s grip over what the Democrats do is so strong, that even when an action is so out-of-bounds, such as the Petraeus ad, Democrats will continue to walk lock step with the group’s mandates.

Stage is set for Lockout

September 15, 2007 · No Comments

 Previously: Riedel on Broadway

Broadway Stagehands are set to strike at the end of the month, or the beginning of October. You might want to read the whole article, but the following is the gist of it.
“Wars are started by miscalculation,” says a source close to the stagehands. “I think the old-timers in the room have a sense of where things are. But all the corporate producers and trust-fund babies - who don’t even bother to learn the names of the people who work on their shows - have no idea what’s going on with the stagehands.”

The source points out that, while the 2003 strike lasted just four days, a strike in the 1970s lasted three weeks.

Should that happen this time, the produc ers will head into the ex tremely lucrative Thanksgiving holiday sitting atop a bunch of dark theaters.

So far, the producers are putting up a united front. They say they’ll hang together for as long as it takes to secure a decent deal.

But I’m starting to pick up squeaks of fear. One of the millions of producers of “Spring Awakening,” a musical that could have a tough time bouncing back after a strike, has been running around town saying the show is “too important to close.”

From the stagehands, all I’m hearing is grim determination not to be bulldozed by those “trust-fund babies” who call themselves producers.

Hillary and the “Willing Suspension of Disbelief”

September 14, 2007 · 3 Comments

Hillary might be confused between the real war in Iraq and this production at the Fringe Festival in Manhattan.

Hillary was evidently trying to sound intellectual and lofty when she told General Patraeus that to believe him required the “willing suspension of disbelief.” Wow. It’s interesting that Hillary would chose such weasel words to call someone a liar. Hillary sounded a lot more like the Wicked Witch of the West. With the Clinton’s reputation for shading the truth, I am surprised that the smartest woman in the world would make such a self incriminating remark.

From Wil H at the Free Republic…
So hillary stated that it required “the willing suspension of disbelief” to accept General Petraeus’ Report to Congress this week.

Fortunately, this is an easy accomplishment for hillary. She is an expert at the Willing Suspension of Disbelief as she demonstrated over the years.

Let’s just think of some examples:

It requires the willing suspension of disbelief to believe a novice trader, can turn $10,000 into $100,000 by a series of complex cattle futures trades and then, having demonstrated a greater ability to trade successfully than anyone before or since, She was so disbelieving she suddenly stopped trading, and has done no trading since.

It requires the willing suspension of disbelief to believe that “the Smartest woman in the World” was unable to recall facts over 100 times in front of a grand jury.

It requires the willing suspension of disbelief to believe that the Rose Law Firm billing records suddenly turned up after three years of diligent searching in the White House. (more…)

Rush is Right

September 12, 2007 · 1 Comment

Thanks Rush for breaking the news that the Treason Times is now one with the kooks at MoveOn.org.

RUSH: MoveOn.org’s ad. The Republicans tried to get the Democrats to condemn it yesterday in the Senate. They wouldn’t have any part it. I didn’t expect them to. But anyway, do you know what a full-page ad (where that ad ran) in the New York Times costs? In their rate book, a full-page ad like the MoveOn.org ad costs $167,000. That’s what it costs. Do you know what MoveOn.org paid for it? $65,000. It’s $167,000, they paid 65, so they got a $102,000 price reduction. Now, you call it an in-kind contribution from the Times because MoveOn.org is a political group. Hell, yes! Now, here’s the thing. The Times doesn’t have to accept any ad it doesn’t want to, but they accepted this. It tells us who they are (even though we already know), and then they gave a price discount. Wait until the news of this gets out to broad quarters and their legit advertisers say, “Hey, will you give us a $102,000 price reduction if we put a political message in the latest Estée Lauder ad? That Little Pinch, I gotta tell you, the people running that paper are idiots.
