Obama Gaffes A Plenty

Barak Obama revealed a great misunderstanding of the International situation in Iraq when he allowed himself to be drawn into a kerfuffle with Australian Prime Minister John Howard. It is really sad that Obama refers to Howard as, “George Bush’s Ally.” Australia has been an ally of the United States of American. Obama is practicing the usual democrat treason. Stop the ACLU asks the question, “Has Howard Cooked Obama’s Goose?” Also check out Obama’s Huge Gaffe.

Courtesy of News Max:

Australia’s conservative prime minister slammed Barack Obama on Sunday over his opposition to the Iraq war, a day after the first-term U.S. senator announced his intention to run for the White House in 2008.

Obama said Saturday at his campaign kickoff in Springfield, Ill., that one of the country’s first priorities should be ending the war in Iraq. He has also introduced a bill in the Senate to prevent President Bush from increasing American troop levels in Iraq and to remove U.S. combat forces from the country by March 31, 2008.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard, a staunch Bush ally who has sent troops to Iraq and faces his own re-election bid later this year, said Obama’s proposals would spell disaster for the Middle East.

“I think that will just encourage those who want to completely destabilize and destroy Iraq, and create chaos and a victory for the terrorists to hang on and hope for an Obama victory,” Howard said on Nine Network television.

“If I were running al-Qaida in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008 and be praying as many times as possible for a victory, not only for Obama but also for the Democrats.”

From the New York Post:

February 13, 2007 — Sen. Barack Obama, all of 25 months removed from the Illinois state legislature, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States on Saturday – and immediately began trading harsh words with the leader of one of America’s oldest and most reliable allies.

In the process, the freshman senator revealed truly breathtaking naiveté. Read more »

Contemplating Success on a Snow Day

It seems that the loss of important instructional time has become my personal cause. With today being our fifth calamity day (snow day), I have serious concerns about meeting all the curricular goals that we have for the year. With the other instructional time that we are already forfeiting, these additional lost days can never be truly recovered.

My frustrations today are more focused on colleagues who seem to care more about having the snow days than about our educational endeavors with our students. The anticipation for one or more snow days this week created a euphoria that trumped the need for focused instruction on Monday. These teachers seem to feel little or no pressure to accomplish anything with their students.

The OGT (Ohio Graduation Test) is rapidly approaching. The high stakes testing days for the entire plethora of AP courses are in a few weeks. Any authentic expert in the classroom has always set measurable goals including a portfolio of assessments to evaluate educational outcomes. And, successful teachers in the performing arts have always had public performances to as one measurement of student success. Since we annually perform for a board of choral experts, we have been doing proficiency testing long before the state government required it for the core areas.

From day one of my teaching career, there have always been self-imposed pressures to be successful. The public, other teachers and administrators would see and hear the results of efforts in the classroom. I have always had to employ imaginative and creative motivational strategies to insure success for most of the students enrolled in choir. We always have daily and weekly goals, and if the goals are not met, many people will know. An upcoming class demonstration production (postponed due to previous snow days) will be on display for administrators, parents, and members of the public to appraise our successes in the theater classroom this year. There are many other performances before the year ends. We always have a goal, and it always keeps us busy. Read more »

Politicizing the War

Pelosi and company simply can’t seem to keep any of their promises.

From the Washington Times:

So what happened to House Democrats — and in particular Majority Leader Steny Hoyer — between Thursday and Sunday? We ask because on Thursday Mr. Hoyer pledged that “Republicans will be given either a substitute or a motion to recommit so that they can propose whatever substantive alternative that they choose” in regards to this week’s debate on the Democrats’ nonbinding resolution opposing the administration’s troop surge in Iraq. But on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Mr. Hoyer, seated beside Minority Leader John Boehner, said that allowing Republicans to offer an alternative resolution is “not necessarily our plan at this point in time.”
Mr. Hoyer’s broken promise is indicative of the way Democrats have been talking out of both sides of their mouth on the Iraq war. For their anti-war base, Democrats are keeping hope alive that they will — at some uncertain date — oppose the war more forcefully, perhaps by voting to cut off funding. But to the public at large, Democrats don’t want to be viewed as abandoning the troops. A clear example of this doubletalk are all the Democratic votes confirming Gen. David Petraeus and Adm. William Fallon, both of whom support the president’s new war plan. For now, all the Democrats have the strength for is a nonbinding resolution that opposes the troop surge. That kind of resolve was nicely ridiculed by presidential aspirant John Edwards, who compared it to a child “standing in the corner and stomping his feet.”

Surrendercrats in the House

John Boehner has it right this time about a resolution that Pelosi and Company plan to ram through the House of Representatives.

For 22 years, U.S. and world leaders viewed radical Islamic terrorism as something that could be managed by law enforcement and the justice system. It is unfortunate that only after the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001 did we open our eyes and acknowledge the fact that we are involved in a global struggle – a global war to defend all that is sacred to our way of life.

Do Democrats really think that if we pull out now, and leave Iraq to the terrorists, that al Qaeda will throw up their arms and leave us alone? It was just last August when British and American intelligence officials uncovered a plot to bomb American airliners over U.S. cities. And we recently uncovered new al Qaeda documents – in Iraq – detailing plans to attack Americans. Read more »

Why We Must Finish The Job In Iraq

From December 15, 2005:

Over the past four weeks, President Bush has made a cycle of three successive speeches leading up to the historic vote in Iraq today. The President has once again articulated the case for vigorously pursuing the war on terror that is well understood by many Americans. Facilitated by the designs and intentions of the liberal media, the latest outrageous anti-war oratories often eclipse the Presidents message. While the mainstream media caters to and magnifies the views John Murtha and Nancy Pelosi, liberal media figures such as Bill Moyers continue their uninterrupted tirade as the biased press attempts to stifle the message of the administration.

In celebration of the Iraqi vote today, for my own edification, and to create an irrefutable document of the case to finish the war, I wanted to publish a concise synopsis of the President’s own words in defense of the current Iraq policy. Here then are the top ten points made by President Bush during the last month of setting the record straight on Iraq.

1. September 11, 2001, our nation awoke to a sudden attack, and we accepted new responsibilities. We are confronting new dangers with firm resolve. September 11 changed our country. It changed the policy of our government

2. We are hunting down the terrorists and their supporters. We will fight this war without wavering. And we will prevail. We adopted a new strategy to protect the American people. We would hunt down the terrorists wherever they hide. We would make no distinction between the terrorists and those who harbor them

3. In the war on terror, Iraq is now the central front. This is an enemy without conscience. And again, such enemy, there is only one effective response. We will never back down, we will never give in. And we will never accept anything less than complete victory.

4. Given Saddam’s history, and the lessons of September 11, my decision to remove Saddam Hussein was the right decision. Saddam was a threat, and the American people and the world is better off because he is no longer in power. Read more »

The Murtha of all Morons Barks Again

Jack Murtha just keeps on showing his stupidity. I think he has had a few too many drinks while visiting Okinawa.

From the mind that brought you an over-the-horizon redeployment to Okinawa comes this latest exercise in magic and wonder, in which a Sunni population threatened with ethnic cleansing chooses to fight the Sunni jihadis in its midst instead of coopting them for battle against the Shiites. Or am I misunderstanding Murtha and what he really means is that the Shiites themselves will “get rid” of Al Qaeda in the course of massacring pretty much every last Sunni in the country?

Obama’s Huge Gaffe

Barak Obama says that over 3,000 American lives have been wasted in in Iraq. I would like to see him explain this to the spouses and parents of all those who have given their lives for American freedom . Obama just revealed that he is unfit to be President.
