97 Reasons Democrats Are Weak On Defense And Can’t Be Trusted To Govern In Wartime
Seth referenced the premise of this article the other day. It is worth reading the entire piece. The following is a meaningufl excerpt. Note: Jimmy Carter tops the list!
Today’s Democrats are nothing like Presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Kennedy, who with courage and decisive action kept on top of their jobs and aggressively confronted one national defense crisis after another.
Jimmy Carter, elected during the Cold War with the Soviet Union, and (1) believing Americans had an inordinate fear of communism, (2) lifted U.S. citizens’ travel bans to Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia and (3) pardoned draft evaders.
President Carter (4) also stopped B-1 bomber production, (5) gave away our strategically located Panama Canal and (6) made human rights the central focus of his foreign policy.
That led Carter, a Democrat, (7) to make a monumental miscalculation and withdraw U.S. support for our long-standing Mideast military ally, the Shah of Iran. (8) Carter simply didn’t like the Shah’s alleged mistreatment of imprisoned Soviet spies.
The Soviets, (9) with close military ties to Iraq, a 1,500-mile border with Iran and eyes on Afghanistan, aggressively tried to encircle, infiltrate, subvert and overthrow Iran’s government for its oil deposits and warm-water ports several times after Russian troops attempted to stay there at the end of WWII. These were all communist threats to Iran that Carter never understood!
Sherrod Brown doesn’t understand the threat either!
Fascinating: the first time that Sherrod Brown has voted for any of the tools in the war on Islamic fascism.
Shame on Sherrod Brown!
Update: Just watched the 10pm. replay. Someone should tell Sherrod Brown that he can filibuster only when and IF he gets elected to the US Senate.
Shame on Sherrod Brown! Shame on Sherrod Brown for reciting the talking points of the Manhattan and Washington DC elite liberals with no consideration for the needs of Ohio. Shame on Sherrod Brown for wasting our time rehearsing Nutty Ned’s lines for an Ohio election.
When Ohio voters realize that Ned Lamont’s clone is running in Ohio, they will turn out in droves to defeat him. And believe me; defeating Brown is a nobler goal than electing Dewine.
Today’s telecast of Meet the Press was the occasion for a debate between Senator Mike Dewine and Congressman Sherrod Brown. Although Ohio is a state that is firmly red, Dewine has lost credibility with republican voters in Ohio by attempting to be too much like John McCain. It’s also not a good year for any republican in Ohio due the scandal surrounding Governor Bob Taft, and his unimpressive performance in office. In a normal year, Dewine would have no trouble trouncing Brown.
The release of two critical polls demonstrates that the race is too close to call, a polling phenomena that mirrors polling in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections the first week of October. While these polls often fail to acknowledge in any reasonable manner the red state nature of Ohio’s voting patterns, the senate race is undoubtedly close, and could fall in Brown’s favor between now and November 7.
Today’s debate brought shame onto Sherrod Brown because Mr. Brown choose to kick the debate off with the contrived talking points of the Washington liberals while ignoring the particular interests and complexion of the Ohio voter. In his first response to arch leftist and former democrat party operative Tim Russert, Brown cited the new book by Bob Woodward as if this headline grabbing, sensationalist tabloid trash were a source worthy of reference. Support Michelle Malkin
Leave it to the Liberal bloggers to get a story totally wrong. Mimicking their larger counterparts NBC, CBS, Al-Reuters, Al-Jazeera, and Ketih Olbermann, liberal bloggers have fabricated a story, replete with the now patented fauxtography. With a desperate gasp for air, these bloggers have attempted to slam Michelle Malkin with shady work and slanderous material.
The Wonkette has a post that has all of the screeching liberal characteristics: gratuitous name calling, factual errors, placing the spin above the actual story, and the purposeful misrepresentation of Michelle’s original post.
Several bloggers have the story fully covered, and I agree with Michelle, let’s keep these people and their moonbat behavior out front so that common sense voters can see the contemporary liberal party for the treasonous, disingenuous, heinous, lying liars that they have become.
Michelle responds in detail to those who continually attempt to demean her and her wonderful writing:
“So, I’ll be back here the next day and the next cheerfully doing what I do. And the haters will be back in their pigpens doing what they do. The wonderful thing about the Internet is that there is room for both. The wonderful thing about this country is that you are free to choose. See you in the morning. Thanks for your continued readership!”
The post that started it all. Barking Moonbat has its’ say, LaShawn Barber sounds off too!
