Clinton Meltdown on Fox News Sunday: Mega Link Fest

Update: The mother of all link fests

With the way the news has been developing, it’s difficult to tell which of the democrat former Presidents presents the most outrageous commentaryon events. Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have a mutual interest: trying to create a meaningful legacy for their troubled presidential terms. Carter knows he was a total failure. Clinton is afraid of being perceived as a failure because of his many tawdry affairs, and the perception that he would lie about anything to preserve a legacy. Neither Clinton nor Carter can seem to stop talking. If we could get Clinton, Carter, Chavez, Murtha, Pelosi, and Rosie
O’Donnell to appear in a series of commercials promoting election of democrats this Fall, the republicans could break open the champagne a little early.

While both of these men are an embarrassment to the United States, and both appear willing to say anything to get attention, Clinton wins this weeks award for worst former President with his shameful, if not comical, appearance with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. He used the classic Clinton strategy perfected many years ago in Arkansas politics: obfuscate and bluster your way through any crisis, and let your liberal friends in the media carry the water all the way home following the initial attack.

Oh no! Rosie Shows Some Skin…

This is just a little bit too much information

BURBANK, Calif. – Rosie O’Donnell gave Julian McMahon an eyeful when they were shooting a sex scene for FX Networks’ “Nip/Tuck.” She tells “Access Hollywood” they had her wear a tube-top that they would shoot around. But O’Donnell says they kept yelling “cut” because a bit of the tube-top could be seen in the shot. So, she fixed that by pulling down the top.

She says McMahon, who plays plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy on the show, looked down and told her “nice boobs,” adding, “but he was so nice.” O’Donnell says she would “love to do that show again and again and again.”

O’Donnell’s episode of “Nip/Tuck” airs Oct. 3. She plays a woman who has just won $381 million in a Powerball lottery and goes to the South Beach plastic surgery practice for her whole family.

Wow! For more insanity, check out the Rosie Blog. Maybe Rosie can have brunch at Sara Beth’s West Side with Hugo, Cindy, Danny, and other liberal activists.

The Purpose of Traditional Worship

In many ways, today was no different than many other Sundays. The so-called traditional worship service happened with little fanfare, passion, or involvement. As these Sunday Mornings pass, I often wish that the service could be the subject of an evaluation by a mystery worshiper from the well known website, Ship of Fools. The resulting commentary: biting, pithy and informative might shake up the protectors of the status quo, and generate the essential questions surrounding the fundamentals of traditional worship. There is supposed to be a consultant on the way to evaluate the worship service from a professional standpoint, however, there is no need to wait on him. Disorder is the rule of the day, and the total absence of focus and intention appears to be the process.

Matthew Lawrence has a great statement about the purpose of traditional worship. We can use this as a measurement for the effectiveness of today’s “celebration of the secular” that I attended. Lawrence has clearly put more thought and effort into his philosophical statement than many clergy charged with worship design.

“The traditional answer is to worship God: sing God’s praises, join in the chorus of angels and all of creation in giving praise to the Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier. In other words, it has little to do with finding a lot of meaning in your life, beyond the meaning of being a part of the singing chorus; it has more to do with honoring God for God’s own sake. Praise worship in the contemporary vein is a modern (and in my opinion rather artless) variation on this theme. When we start with the Gloria, it is to begin with the essential heart of worship, which is all about singing praises to God.” Read more »
